Roadmap

Where HVAC HQ goes next

What we are building, in the order the trade keeps asking for it. Nothing on this page carries a date, because a date on unfinished software is a promise somebody else has to keep.

How to read this page

Everything below is direction, not product. A feature leaves this page when it works end to end, and only then does it show up on the FAQ as something you can use. If you sign up today, sign up for what the FAQ says the product does today; this page is what your subscription is funding next.

The fastest way to move the order is to say so: the assistant in the corner files what you tell it, and sales@hvac-hq.com reaches a person.

Recently shipped

This is the paved stretch of the road below: seven things that were a plan not long ago and are product now. Each one went by the same rule this page is written to, and each one is described honestly on the FAQ, limits included.

  • Write to your customers by email. Compose from the app, audience buckets, automatic flows, an inbox for replies, and a sent list. Texting is built and waiting on carrier registration.
  • Multi-option estimates, package templates, PDF package pick, and a financing hand-off. Two or three named packages on one estimate link, optional percent off per package, saveable Good/Better/Best sets, and package choices on uploaded PDFs (Growth+, display price only, stamped on the certificate). Plus a quiet card that opens your lender's own application. No credit check inside this app.
  • Job costing on Growth. One honest gross-profit number per job: what it sold for, what the parts and labor cost, and a dot where a cost is missing.
  • Service times on the board. Each job carries how long it takes on site, so a long repair occupies the windows it needs and a job that cannot finish before closing is refused on every channel.
  • QuickBooks sync. A finalized pay run posts its gross as a journal entry, and the payment ledger syncs out as invoices with their payments. Item mapping, deposits and payroll liabilities stay the bookkeeper's.
  • Pay Prep. Payday worked out from the crew's own clocked shifts, overtime done the federal way, pay stubs, and one file for the bookkeeper. Not payroll: nothing is withheld, filed or sent. Scale plan.
  • Card payments through your own Stripe or PayPal. Customers pay estimates and invoices by card. The keys are yours, the account is yours, and the money never routes through us.

We are here

Everything above this line works today. Everything below it is a plan, and the road under it is staked out, not built.

A road implies a journey, and a journey implies time, so here is the straight version. The order means something: it is the order we mean to build in, and it moves when contractors tell us what hurts. The gaps mean nothing: two stops close together are not two weeks apart, and the last stop on the page is not further away in time, it is further down the list.

  1. The content studio

The proof of your work is already on your phones: the before-and-after, the clean install, the condenser that came out of a crawlspace in one piece. Today HVAC HQ files those as job photos and nothing more. The plan is to make them earn their keep, under one rule that covers every item at this stop: the AI drafts; a person approves and posts.

    • Image library

One searchable home for every photo your business takes and every image you generate: filed by job and customer the day it lands, findable the day you need it. Job photos already exist in the product. The library that makes them reusable does not, yet.

Today A technician photographs a job from the driveway and the photos file themselves against it.

    • Image generation

Marketing images made in the app, in your own branding: the seasonal tune-up promo, the we-are-hiring post, the artwork for the door hanger. Nothing in the app generates an image today. The plan is that you describe it, you approve it, and it lands in the library next to the real photos.

    • Reels and short video

Point at a before-and-after in the library and get a cut-to-length vertical video for the platforms that want one. That is the plan; nothing in the app cuts video today. It will be built from your own work, with captions you can change, and nothing goes anywhere until you post it.

    • Video generation and a simple editor

Longer pieces assembled from your own footage and images: a crew introduction, a what-to-expect video for new customers, a maintenance plan explainer. None of it exists in the product yet. The editor will stay simple on purpose, because most edits are a trim, a title and a caption.

    • Social media posting

Connect your own accounts and publish or schedule from the same screen the content was made on, then see what actually went out. No social account connects to HVAC HQ today; that is the plan.

  2. Advertising

Making the post is half of it. The other half is deciding what to put money behind, and finding out which jobs came back. HVAC HQ can already tell you what a job was worth, but it cannot spend a dollar on advertising today and it cannot see one that was spent.

    • Paid ads on Meta and TikTok

A reel or an image the studio made, running as a paid ad on Facebook, Instagram or TikTok, bought from inside the app. Nothing in HVAC HQ touches an ad account today. The plan puts ad money where your card money already sits: the ad account and the card on it stay yours, and the spend goes from you to Meta or TikTok and never through us. A person sets the budget and a person presses go.

Today Card payments already work that way. Your own Stripe or PayPal keys, your own account, and the money never routes through us.

    • Ads judged on booked jobs

Most ad AI chases clicks, because clicks are all it can see. Nothing in HVAC HQ touches an ad today: the plan is an AI that reads the other end, matching what you spent against the jobs that came in and what those jobs invoiced. It would rank the creative, name what to stop paying for and suggest the change, and it would never raise a budget on its own.

Today Every call, job and invoice is already recorded and linked to the customer it belongs to, which is the half of this that is hard.

  3. Getting hold of people

    • Text messaging

Appointment confirmations, on-my-way messages and reminders, by text. Nothing in HVAC HQ sends a text yet: carrier registration for business texting (10DLC) is the gate, and it is slow on purpose, because it is what keeps a number from being flagged as spam.

Today The app records which customers said yes to texting, and who asked, and when, so the audience is lawful on the day sending switches on.

    • An on-call rota, and a text with the call

The remaining plan is the text that goes out alongside the call. Carrier registration for business texting is the gate. The rota itself already works: a silent first phone is followed by the next person.

Today An emergency the AI takes on the phone or the website goes to the top of the board, emails your on-call address if you have set one, and buzzes subscribed devices. Save mobiles on the rota and your own AI line rings them in order, up to three times each, ninety seconds apart, stopping on the first pick-up.

  4. The money side

    • Consumer financing at the kitchen table

Soft-credit pre-approval and monthly payment options on an estimate, through a lender partnership, inside the app. Financing is regulated, and we will not guess at a lender's API: that deeper flow ships when there is a signed agreement and real documentation, not before.

Today An estimate's signing page can open your lender's own application from a link you save in Settings. HVAC HQ never takes an application and never runs a credit check.

    • Distributor price feeds

A live line to suppliers like Johnstone, Ferguson or Watsco, so when wholesale moves your retail follows the margin you set. No distributor feed is connected today, and a feed would replace the import, not the margin math.

Today The price book imports the CSV your supplier already sends you, with per-item price locks and one margin slider.

  5. Out in the van

    • Native mobile apps

iOS and Android apps with true offline working: the work that has to save in a basement, and a camera that reads a real barcode instead of simulating one. Neither app exists today.

Today The web app installs to a home screen, still shows the last board it loaded when the signal goes, and queues status changes to send when the bars come back.

    • Drive-time-aware scheduling

The plan is to let drive-time numbers order the whole day, so the schedule stops paying for left turns across town. The office booking path already prefers the closer van when no technician is named. The phone line does not wait on Google, and the day is not yet reordered.

Today The board works out a drive-time estimate for a job when you ask for one, using your own Google Maps key.
